Peb Summer 2006

Thursday, June 29, 2006

We will be back July 1-2 to bring back clean linens, paint the picnic table and the wicker chairs, mend the hose, mow the lawn and bring new potholders to replace the ones the mice ate. And to water..water..water.. This is the END of the blog..blogs always start at the BOTTOM and work up..

Everything back in its place, nice and clean.

Rhodedendrons watered ...

Buckets put away...

Mountains on Sunday morning. Its going to be 91 degrees today...I hate to leave.

Katie is having a bagel and a big bowl of strawberries.

Laura after her shower.....not yet competely dressed.....

Strawberries for breakfast!

Sunday morning. Up early...we need to get back to Federal Way by noon, Laura and Lisa have previous commitments. Here Laura wakes up the Canal with the elk horn. She learned to play the trombone one summer at band camp, so she is a natural for this!

Its been a long day and we've worked hard. Laura is sacked out before its even dark

Another beautiful sunset.

Time to relax and watch the sun go down.

The biolets have all been serviced, and the sinks will now get scrubbed out. Katie will follow later to sweep all floors in the house.

This expression sort of conveys the ickiness of this task.

The crap gets stirred around....

That sawdust-peatmoss stuff goes in the biolets for their spring servicing.

Mixture of peat moss and sawdust. Guess what this is for....

Katie at work.

1970's era vacuum cleaner...

Dinner over. As the sun sinks lower we continue our work, inside the house now.

We had stopped at a farm stand on the way to Peb and bought this yummy flat of local strawberries. So sweet and flavorful...

Katie really enjoys that steak.

"Beef...its whats for dinner"

Classic shot of Laura. Eating watermelon, ketchup bottle standing ready.

That looks like a tasty Weight Watchers approved meal!

Yum! Chicken breasts and sirloin steak!

The barbeque has been cleaned too, and now its ready for use.

While Katie's clothes (wet from the window washing) dry in the sun.

Amid this dappled light, Katie and Laura are relaxing.

After 5 hours of steady work, time to kick off the shoes for awhile.

Bed looks much more inviting!

While Katie sweeps out all the bedrooms, Lisa remakes the beds. The spots on the picture were caused by a reflection off the varnished walls....not kidding!

Work in progress. Chairs drying, dirty sheets piling up to be taken home to wash...

Okay, when its your turn at Peb, don't forget to water them!

The peat moss is well mixed in. The plants go in next.

I hope these vinca plants survive!

Lisa breaking up the hard soil in the planter box.

Looks cleaner all the time!

Laura is documenting.

Good job Katie, windows look great! Sorry your clothes got soaked though!

The Windex stuff gets hooked to the hose, sprayed on and rinsed off. It works really well, and no streaking.

Picnic table, benches and patio nice and clean...the bottle of window cleaner awaits the next project...washing down the outside of the windows.

Lisa washing the patio chairs.

Lysoled and ready to air out.

Look at those mountains!

Laura finished scrubbing the picnic table and benches, rinsed them off and now they are drying in the sun. The next project was to strip the beds. Linens are going back to Federal Way to be washed. Blankets and bedspreads air out in the sun. Laura is spraying Lysol on some of them that are really musty smelling.

Katie in the final stages of the patio cleaning, rinsing it off. In the background, Laura scrubs under the picnic table.

Lisa pruning the rose. Are these shears from when the house was built?

Laura has moved on to the legs. In the background Katie is now rinsing the patio.
